Our Itinerary

It's hard to believe that we have less than 24 hours before we leave on our trip. We have a checklist of tasks . . . and we have most of them completed. Tonight, I still have to plant the remaining annual flowers I bought - it is about 49 degrees and raining. Yuck! Of course, there will probably be a few things that drop off the  list, too.

Here is our itinerary:

  • Fly to Geneva, Switzerland.
  • Spend 2 nights in Chamonix, France (we're checking out Mont Blanc for a possible future hike).
  • Spend 3 nights in Montpellier seeing Steven and Jessica's world. They will have just finished their finals and then plan to travel with us for awhile.
  • Travel to Lourmarin, France in the Luberon Mountains (the Provence area).
  • Travel to Cinque Terre and hike to the 5 towns. I'm sure many of you travelers know about Cinque Terre, but in case you don't, here's some information. The picture header on our blog is from Vernazza, one of the towns in Cinque Terre that we will be hiking through.
  • Travel to Florence for 5 nights. In addition to exploring all the wonders of Florence, we are planning to take some day trips to Siena, Pisa and Luca.
  • Head to Milan for 1 night before flying home.
One of the most difficult things was realizing we have to limit what we can see - everything sounds so interesting and wonderful. I just have to keep telling myself that this isn't our last trip to Europe!
