Exploring Montpellier

This morning, Greg and I went hiking around Montpellier for about 3 hours. Steven and Jessica were both trying to finish up their preparations for leaving, so we had fun exploring this beautiful city. The center of the city is The Place de la Comédie - a large plaza with an opera house at one end (see the top photo). There are people everywhere - musicians, outdoor cafes, shops, etc. It was a beautiful day so it was fun to be out and about absorbing all the activity.

We then spent time walking in the older part of the city which has lots of winding, narrow cobblestone streets. We stopped at several churches and the medical school - once again, the age of the buildings is something we don't experience in the United States.

Just by chance, we met Jess walking by the Place du Royale du Peyrou - she was going to meet Steve at their University Office where they were finishing ups some last tasks.
