In the afternoon, we decided to drive to see a World Heritage site, the Pont du Gard.
Almost 2000 years ago, the Roman empire had over 1000 people work for 5 years on the construction of the Pont du Gard.
The objective was to bring water to the city of Nîmes via a 50km long aqueduct.
We had a chance to see the part of the aqueduct that is still standing and then spend time in the museum learning about this engineering feat. The museum was very interesting - we definitely could have used a few more hours to spend to read all the information - Greg was in engineering heaven!
